At Central Missouri Eyecare Associates, we want to provide you with all of your eye care and vision needs, which is why our doctors offer contact lens fitting evaluations and prescriptions. The contact lens evaluation and fitting is an additional portion of the exam, performed at the end of the comprehensive exam and vision evaluation. If you are interested in contact lenses, our doctors will discuss our wide variety of contact lens options with you, so you can find the right contacts to meet your visual needs and lifestyle.
Contact Lens Evaluation
Our optometrists will prescribe appropriate contact lenses based on both your vision and your ocular health. If you are affected by dry eyes, allergies, or are prone to eye infections, our doctors will consider this and choose lenses accordingly. They will also determine whether you are nearsighted, farsighted, or if you have an astigmatism, and will prescribe lenses to most accurately correct your vision. After deciding on a pair of contact lenses for you, the optometrist will use a microscope to evaluate the lenses on your eyes and ensure they are fitting properly. They will also re-check your vision through the new lenses and make sure no further modifications need to be made. Corrective Lens Options
There are many different options for contact lenses, so you can choose the lenses that best fit your lifestyle. Contact lenses come in options that can be changed monthly, bi-weekly, weekly, or daily. There are specialty lenses, such as lenses that correct for high amounts of astigmatism, or bifocal contact lenses, so you can be sure there is a contact lens option available for you. If you are new to contact lenses, our staff can train you on how to properly insert and remove your lenses, care for them, and maintain proper contact lens hygiene. If you are interested in trying contact lenses, call our office for more information.
